We have a new weekly venue.
We'll be meeting at the Kino Cinema in the city centre.
We'll be there every week apart from the 2nd Sunday of every month when we'll be at Starbucks that evening.
The cafe will be open the entire afternoon for anyone who wants to grab some lunch or a drink.
A typical Afternoon will look like this.
1-1:45
Some of us will be out on the streets handing out hot chocolate and treats, and joining in with what God is doing on the streets. This is an easy way to share love with people in a simple way. It's always a load of fun, and the kids will be joining in too. There is absolutely no pressure to go on the streets, and you'd be very welcome to continue eating your lunch, or do your own thing or helping some of us set up the theatre for the 2pm gathering.
2-3:30pm
We will do an afternoon gathering with worship, a message and some praying for people for any need they may have. We want our Heavenly Father to have His way too as we His children gather around our Father.
The Kino Cafe will be open the entire time for anyone who wants to hangout at the back and observe, what's going on. There will be Kids Church happening at the same time, so bring the kids along too.
After we'll hang about and spending time with one another. Relationships and time together is really important when forming a community. Please bring anyone along as everyone needs to eat lunch. I'm excited that we get to create a relational culture that spends time with each other.
We're really excited to be moving into the Kino. The staff there are lovely and are incredibly helpful. It's a fantastic venue. Everyone and anyone is totally welcome whether they are an atheist or a believer or anywhere in between. Hope to see you there. Come and say hi to us 🙂
Why An Afternoon Service?
Sunday is traditionally a day of rest. However for many people who have been around churches, Sundays tend to be a busy day doing church stuff which often gets in the way of rest and family time. We really want to encourage people to spend time with each other and their families as well. We want to encourage families to spend the mornings resting and having family time rather than church getting in the way. Often families and couples are so busy they don't always get the time they need to connect and do something as a family. Sometimes relationships suffer because of commitments to work, life responsibilities and church. That's why we have chosen to create space for people to come and invest in relationships in the afternoons, as well as giving people time to not have to be at church early, and then going home tired. We want people to go home feeling refreshed, so if you need to read a book, or have a chat with someone, or whatever, do something that will energise you and bring you more alive. The space in the afternoon is yours 🙂
